As a Nutrition and Dietary Supervisor, you will maintain full accountability and stewardship relating to all aspects of the specialized Nutrition Lab (NL) and at the Santa Monica Hospital. This will involve the creation of standards/policies, infection control, supervision of staff involved in nutrition and food service, supplies, food/temperature control guidelines, Timeless Software System, development of performance improvement plans, oversight of formula prep, and assembly of education provided to stakeholders. This position will also provide medical nutrition therapy to inpatients and/or outpatients, in a specialized area like Pediatrics and NICU. This position will also have cross-coverage responsibilities for adult patients in the ICU, Critical Care, Cardiac, Renal, GI, OB, Oncology, Head/Neck, Med Surg, and Geriatric areas as needed.

This position supervises the work of two nutrition lab technicians and one registered dietitian.

Salary Range: $70,900-145,200/year 

Qualifications

We’re seeking a self-motivated, empathetic Registered Dietitian Supervisor with:
  • Certification as Registered Dietitian by the Commission of Dietetic Registration.
  • Three or more years of RD experience.
  • One or more years of NICU/pediatrics experience highly preferred
  • Knowledge and understanding of infant formulas and breastmilk fortification.  
  • Ability to use all breast milk nutrition lab equipment.
  • Ability to assess NICU and peds patient calorie, protein, and micronutrient needs based on the Standards of Nutrition Practice and Specialty Guidelines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
