What You’ll Do

As a member of our laboratory team, you will:

• Perform routine, specialized, moderate, and high-complexity laboratory testing on blood and body fluid specimens within the scope of your qualifications
• Produce accurate, reliable, and timely test results that support critical patient-care decisions
• Follow established quality control and quality assurance standards
• Perform instrument function checks, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance
• Maintain required laboratory records, documentation, and statistical data in accordance with regulatory requirements
• Assist throughout laboratory areas as needed to support efficient operations and patient care
• Collect chain-of-custody urine drug screens as required
• Help orient and train new employees and students on laboratory policies and procedures
• Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals committed to quality, accuracy, and exceptional patient care
• Provide coverage for other shifts when necessary to support laboratory operations

Additional Job Description

Medical Technologist (MT)

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and medical laboratory experience meeting applicable qualification requirements.

Certification:
Medical Technologist or Medical Lab Science (MT or MLS) with the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent.

Must meet applicable qualification requirements for testing personnel under 42 CFR §493.1489.

Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)

Education:
Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and medical laboratory experience meeting applicable qualification requirements.

Certification:
Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) with the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).

Must meet applicable CLIA testing personnel qualification requirements.
