The Per Diem Registered Dietitian (RD) provides comprehensive medical nutrition therapy to patients with complex medical conditions in a large, fast-paced academic health system. Working as an integral member of the interdisciplinary care team, the RD conducts nutrition assessments and reassessments, develops individualized nutrition care plans, documents interventions in the electronic health record, and provides evidence-based nutrition education to patients and families.
Key responsibilities include assessing nutritional status, diagnosing and managing malnutrition, performing Nutrition-Focused Physical Exams (NFPE), developing and monitoring therapeutic nutrition interventions, and managing enteral and parenteral nutrition support. The RD evaluates patient outcomes and modifies nutrition care plans to support optimal clinical outcomes.
This position provides nutrition care across the continuum of care and throughout the lifespan, including neonatal, pediatric, adult, geriatric, and neuropsychiatric populations. The Per Diem RD collaborates closely with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, food service staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care.
Salary Range: $50.72-59.16/hr
Registered Dietician Certification required
Minimum of two years of inpatient clinical experience required
Experience in an academic hospital setting preferred
