The Ambulatory Infusion Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for the preparation, distribution, and control of sterile injectable medications. Roles and responsibilities include chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy sterile compounding, record keeping (refrigerator temperature logs and hood cleaning), drug distribution and maintaining inventory. All duties are performed independently by the technician under the supervision of a Pharmacist.

Schedule: Varied hours, depending on department needs, including weekends and holidays. You are required to have the ability to travel to multiple work sites within UCLA Health
Hourly Salary Range: $36.96 (Pharmacy Technician I Per Diem) or $43.96 (Pharmacy Technician II Per Diem)
- Pharmacy Technician I (9279): Less than 2 years of experience
- Pharmacy Technician II (9278): Equal to or more than 2 years of experience
Bargaining Unit: EX - AFSCME
We are seeking a dedicated clinical professional with:
- CA Pharmacy Technician license – required
- Ability to compound chemotherapy utilizing departmental guidelines for the preparation/distribution of cytotoxic agents- required
- At least 1 year of IV sterile compounding pharmacy experience- required
- Skill in preparing intravenous solutions using aseptic technique.
- Ability to accurately perform pharmaceutical calculations.
- Ability to work independently and follow-through on assignments with minimal supervision.
- Skill in computer order entry of medication orders as well as other related computer entry tasks and computer report generation.
- Telephone and verbal skills required to communicate clearly and effectively with pharmacists, nurses, physicians and other health professionals.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching.
- Ability to lift 25 lbs and push 50 lbs
- Responsiveness to auditory alarms and communication devices
