Job Description

The Senior Staff Speech Language Pathologist, the Speech Language Pathologist 3, reports to the Rehab Service Manager and provides both direct and indirect patient care services. The Senior Speech Language Pathologist 3 works primarily with neonate, pediatric, and adolescent patients from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds, and adult/geriatric patients will also be served. The Senior Speech Language Pathologist III demonstrates a solid knowledge base within a wide range of diagnoses that may impact voice, swallowing and upper airway in the pediatric and adult setting.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Possession of a degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited professional educational program.

  • Minimum of 12 months experience as a licensed therapist.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.

  • Ability to recognize signs of distress.

  • Possession of or proven eligibility for CPR certification.

  • Basic computer skills in word processing and online communication.

  • Possession of good interpersonal, time management, problem solving and self-initiation skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION
  • Prior speech language pathology experience in an academic medical center environment.
  • Prior experience working on an interdisciplinary health provider team.
  • Prior experience with voice, swallowing and upper airway evaluation and management in pediatric and adolescent patients
