Job Summary:
This position is accountable for managing the overall operations of a defined Ambulatory patient care clinic during an assigned shift. The incumbent is accountable for monitoring, evaluation, and directing patient care provided by staff, coordinating activities of the patient care unit, making staff assignments and assisting with the development and evaluation of staff members. The incumbent will assist with the recruitment and hiring of staff, evaluating staff competency and evaluating, coaching, and counseling assigned staff in concert with the Manager/Supervisor. This position practices within the scope of the Nursing Practice Act, and in accordance with Valley Children's policies.Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelors Degree (required)
- Bachelors Degree Nursing (preferred)
Licenses and Certifications
- RN - Registered Nurse License - CA-BRN - California Board of Registered Nursing (required)
- BLS - Basic Life Support - AHA - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire or transfer into position (required)
- PEARS - Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization - AHA - American Heart Association For employees hired into Ambulatory Treatment Center (ATC), Hematology and Oncology Clinic. within 12 months of hire or transfer into position (required)
Work Experience
- Minimum two (2) years Full time or equivalent nursing experience (required)
- Pediatric experience (preferred)
Skills and Abilities
- Other Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider Program within 12 months of hire or transfer.
