Job Summary
Supports organizational strategies and initiative, i.e., development and implementation of quality improvement processes which are aligned with sterilization, disinfection, infection control and patient care standards, and which enhance the patient experience; operational effectiveness and program efficiency.
Collaborates with SPD, Peri-Operative Services, Infection Control and Quality team members, as required, to ensure that an appropriate quality program with quality improvement indicators and measurement tools tailored to SPD needs, is designed and implemented. Monitors quality improvement outcomes on a regular basis and collaborates with management to develop action plans as required to address identified issues. Coaches staff, as required, to ensure continuous quality improvement initiatives are incorporated in the day-to-day activities. Demonstrates the links and relationships between quality initiatives and strategic goals on an ongoing basis.
Responsible for the monitoring of the UCSF Medical Center’s SPD Quality Assurance program, consisting of Reprocessing (transport, decontamination, assembly, sterilization or disinfection of instrumentation) and Case Cart Preparation for all reprocessing, case cart preparation activities, equipment maintenance and customer service for all Medical Center locations.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $100,300 - $150,500 (Annual Rate).

Sterile Processing is a mission-critical function within a healthcare facility to clean and sterilize reusable surgical instruments. The quality of the processes used for sterilization and high-level disinfection is complex and requires specific training and subject matter expertise to perform.
