The Principal Perfusionist works effectively under the supervision of the Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery and the Director of Cardiac Perfusion Services. You will report directly to the Director and are expected to work independently. You will be responsible for the overall operation of the department during the absence of the Director.
Under the order of the attending physician, the Principal Perfusionist provides routine and specialized patient care services requiring extracorporeal circulation and/or oxygenation. The Principal Perfusionist provides advanced perfusion techniques for myocardial and/or organ protection and preservation, blood component and drug/fluid administration and blood conservation/concentration. You will provide Principle Perfusion coverage for the West Valley UCLA Health System for primary clinical coverage. The West Valley Principle Perfusionist will maintain the protocols, equipment, and inventory at West Valley UCLA Health, working in collaboration with Infection prevention, regulatory team for JACHO and DPH compliance, POCT and Operative service to provide cardiac support. The West Valley Principal Perfusionist will also provide coverage at Ronald Reagan UCLA Westwood based on operational needs.
Salary Range: $114.01 - $151.89/Hourly
