Duties include, but not limited to, splinting, casting, assisting with minor procedures, wound care, applying fabricated devices, immobilization devices, traction, and overhead frames. Attends all Traumas in the Emergency Department. Works in collaboration with Supply Distribution and Sterile Processing to provide nursing staff with supplies and sterile equipment daily. Accountabilities Monitors and maintains all orthopedic equipment and supplies. Performs simple, non-sterile dressing’s changes on wounds. Performs cast and splint application under the direction of the physician’s orders. Applies any immobilization and mobilization devices to patients. Applies skeletal and manual traction.
