Summary:
The University of North Carolina (UNC) Medical Center Department of Pharmacy has an opening for a highly motivated pharmacist seeking to join our team of clinical pharmacists in Chapel Hill, NC. The focus of this position will be on providing comprehensive pharmacist care services and disease management of patients seen through the adult oncology service line. This individual will ensure continuity of care as the patient transitions between acute care and ambulatory care settings, while continuing to pursue best practices in this area. The services covered will primarily consist of specialized pharmacy services in the medical oncology service space. This position will ensure that clinical coverage can be provided during absences within the team. Additionally, a responsibility exists for providing experiential instruction to Doctor of Pharmacy Students and UNC Medical Center pharmacy residents.
This individual will directly report to the Clinical Manager of the Hematology/Oncology Service Line. Additionally, this individual will work closely with the Hematology/Oncology Clinical and Central Specialists as well as the Specialty Pharmacists within the UNC Carolina Care Pharmacy Care Network
RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary job responsibilities include providing comprehensive pharmacist care services and optimizing medication use for patients seen through the medical oncology service through innovative clinical services, ensuring continuity of care by bridging acute and ambulatory pharmacy services, and leading quality improvement initiatives. The Clinical Pharmacist Float will provide coverage in the inpatient or outpatient services to support absences in staffing due to time off, administrative days, or vacancies.

● PharmD or BS Pharmacy Degree
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
● Active pharmacist licensure with the NC Board of Pharmacy or obtainable before initiation of employment. Recent graduates of ACPE-accredited colleges/schools of pharmacy may fill this role while pending initial pharmacist licensure, but are subject to limitations mandated by the NC Board of Pharmacy and must obtain licensure within 6 months of orientation or sooner if required for operations.
