Loan forgiveness and tuition reimbursement programs are available.   RESPONSIBILITIES Provide direct clinical support, including patient triage, vital signs, history intake, chart preparation, exam assistance, routine procedures, patient education, and preventative care follow-ups. Coordinate daily MA assignments, provider support, patient flow, and clinical/administrative task delegation to promote an efficient clinic workflow. Train, onboard, cross-train, and provide ongoing guidance and support to Medical Assistants while serving as a resource for clinical questions. Manage clinic supplies and vaccine inventory, including ordering and stocking, and serve as the primary Vaccine Coordinator. Promote timely, closed-loop communication in the EHR and collaborate with providers, staff, departments, and external contacts to support continuity of care.   KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required, with a high school diploma or GED and minimum age of 18. Five or more years of clinical Medical Assistant experience is preferred. Strong written and verbal communication, leadership, organization, and customer service skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic health record (EHR) systems, along with knowledge of medical terminology and health information management practices. Experience working with OBGYN physicians and Certified Nurse Midwives is strongly preferred. Experience with phlebotomy, vaccines, GYN procedures, newborn care, prenatal care, and gynecology across the lifespan is strongly preferred. Ability to prioritize and multitask independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment while exercising sound judgment within the MA scope of practice. Physical requirements: Ability to lift 25 pounds without difficulty using proper body mechanics and perform the physical tasks associated with clinical patient care. ENVIRONMENT South Peninsula Hospital is a combined 22-bed Acute Care Critical Access Hospital and 28-bed Long Term Care facility located at the southern end of the Kenai Peninsula in South-Central Alaska. This is a fast-paced, patient-centered clinical environment requiring frequent interaction with patients, families, physicians, Medical Assistants, and staff throughout the hospital; professionalism, confidentiality, teamwork, and adaptability are essential. The Lead Medical Assistant works closely with Clinic Leadership while balancing hands-on patient care, team coordination, and administrative responsibilities.
