Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Hyperbaric Services.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsibility #1: Performs operational procedures to facilitate coordinated and efficient delivery of Hyperbaric services.
a. Assists the director with keeping adequate records of al departmental activities, meeting, and projects.
b. Assists with the development of staffing schedule.
c. Effectively manages staffing to meet productivity goals.
d. Implements changes to improve efficiency and safety of the department.
e. Manages finances by tracking/ordering supplies, monitoring daily charges.
f. Assists in maintaining statistical data.
g. Proactively anticipate changes and acts to resolve potential problems before they arise.
h. Delegates tasks and duties to staff and students appropriately.
i. Coordinates educational opportunities to meet staff needs.
j. Assists with scheduling in-services.
2. Performs treatments for all patient populations adolescent through geriatric in a safe manner.
a. Recognizes the limits of each patient population and modifies communication and treatment accordingly.
b. Adheres to treatment precautions and contraindications.
c. Prepares patient for treatment by introducing self, explaining the purpose of the service, discussing goals with the patient/family.
d. Completes documentation in compliance with hospital, departmental, and regulatory requirements in a timely manner. Uses only hospital approved abbreviations.
e. Communicates effectively with patients and other healthcare professionals.
f. Provides appropriate education to the patient/family.
3. Assists the Director in managing and developing staff.
a. Assists with supervising the implementation of policies and procedures that guide the department.
b. Acts as a leader, role model for staff and the department by mentoring, coaching, and promoting individual and team processes.
c. Assists with maintaining appropriate documentation of orientation and other trainings for staff.
d. Addresses behavioral performance issues promptly and in accordance with hospital policy.
e. Encourages employee support and participation in process improvement/changes.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
- Effective communication and leadership skills.
- Knowledge of Hyperbaric monoplace chamber, TCOM & computer skills.
- Due to collaborative nature of the services, excellent team skills required.
- ABI & TCOM.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Completion of a Certified Hyperbaric Technologist Course. Completion of Leadership Institute program required within one (1) year.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Minimum five (5) years in Hyperbaric Therapy.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
Certified Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT). BLS certification through AHA.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Two (2) years management experience preferred.
