As one of the most recognized pediatric centers in California, performing Interventional Radiology procedures are done to ensure quality standards are met in the context of promoting continuous quality improvement. Our patient population comes from California and beyond, seeking pediatric-centered care utilizing bi-plane and other Interventional equipment and techniques by a motivated and dedicated team. This department is designed for those who enjoy utilizing technology and interventional skills to improve the outcomes of the lives of children. 

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Interventional Radiologist and Imaging Leadership, the IR Technologist is responsible for the overall clinical operational execution of the IR service. IR technologists assist in a variety of specialty and complex interventional and diagnostic procedures with proficiency. Technologist orders and maintains supplies, operates radiologic equipment, and sets exposure parameters during interventional and diagnostic procedures according to state and federal radiation safety regulations following ALARA principles. Maintains knowledge of, observes, and enforces the safety measures in Environment of Care.

Qualifications:


Education

  • High School Diploma/G.E.D. (required) And
  • Program Graduate of formal accredited program in Radiologic Technology (required) Or
  • College Degree - 2 year Radiology (required)
  • College Degree - 4 year (preferred)


Licenses and Certifications

  • BLS - Basic Life Support - AHA - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire or transfer into position (required)
  • CRT - California Radiologic Technologist License - CDPH - California Department of Public Health (required)
  • RT-R - Rad Tech Radiography - ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (required)
  • RHF - Rad Tech/Fluoroscopy License - CDPH - California Department of Public Health (required)


Work Experience

  • Minimum six (6) months Radiology (preferred)
  • Pediatric experience (preferred)


Skills and Abilities

  • Bilingual Skills Preferred.
