Job Description
25% Safely provides activities of daily living; adapts to change in a positive, professional manner; accurately performs and documents Accuchecks; cooperates well with peers and supports group decisions.
25% Accurately communicates patient information to charge nurse/registered nurse/ licensed practical nurse in a timely manner; thoroughly and legibly documents in the patient record including intake and output, patient weights and vital signs.
25% Maintains a clean, neat, and safe environment for patients and staff, ensures supplies and equipment for patient care are readily available and organized in an efficient manner, and correctly identifies and uses appropriate personal protective equipment. Assist with instrumentation processing for transport to Division SPD department.
25% Seeks information/guidance from RN/LPN, consistently uses skilled communication which demonstrates congruence between words and actions and holds others accountable for doing the same and communicates effectively. Establishes and maintains two-way communication with peers, staff, physicians, and administration, and follows through on problems that may compromise patient care by using the appropriate chain of command and demonstrates appropriate interpersonal skills for all age groups.
Additional Job Description
Minimum Requirements: At least 1 year work experience in a .6fte PCT I position at MUSC CHS or 1 year of patient care work experience in a health care facility; or a college degree, or active enrollment in nursing school with completion of Nursing Fundamentals from an accredited institution; or active enrollment in a healthcare related field from an accredited institution; or a Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant, or equivalent training. Credentials: Basic Life Support required within 2 weeks of hire. Thereafter, must maintain. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
