UVA Health Children’s has opened two new pediatric outpatient locations at UVA Health Medical Park Riverside in northern Albemarle County. The new locations are Pediatric and Specialty Care Riverside and Teen and Young Adult Care Riverside. They join the UVA Health Children’s Pediatric Neurodevelopmental and Behavioral Health clinic at UVA Health Medical Park Riverside, which opened in December 2024 in partnership with Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital to expand access to behavioral health and neurodevelopmental care for children across Central Virginia.

As an Access Associate Senior at UVA Health, you play a critical role in ensuring patients receive seamless, compassionate entry into care across a complex and high-performing academic medical system.  The Access Associate Senior role is eligible to be fully remote after 6 months of training and supports call center functions of multiple pediatric and women’s outpatient locations.  

The starting base rate for this role is $19.50/hr. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate’s previous work experience, education, and/or experience, We also offer a $3,500 sign on bonus which requires a 2-year commitment to UVA Health. 

In this high-impact position, you will serve as a trusted access expert across multiple clinical settings, supporting patient intake, registration, scheduling, and financial clearance functions. Your ability to adapt quickly, maintain accuracy, and provide outstanding service will directly influence both patient experience and operational efficiency. 

On any given day, you may: 

  • Perform patient registration, insurance verification, and demographic updates with a high level of accuracy 

  • Coordinate and manage appointment scheduling across a variety of specialty and primary care services 

  • Communicate directly with patients and families, providing clear guidance on processes, expectations, and next steps 

  • Collaborate with clinical teams, providers, and fellow access staff to resolve complex scheduling or registration challenges 

  • Maintain composure in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while prioritizing both patient care and compliance standards

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent required. Associates degree preferred.

Experience: 2 years relevant experience required. Access Associate fully cross-trained to cover multiple specialties will be considered in lieu of the 2 years relevant experience.

Licensure: None required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Job requires sitting for prolonged periods; Repetitive motion: (computer and mouse use). Proficient communicative skill across spoken, writing domains, adequate auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly and compose messages clearly and concisely.
