Job Description Summary
The VOCA (Victims of Crime Acts) MAP (MUSC Advocacy Program) Social Worker (MSW) reports to the Manager of Case Management and Care Transitions. Under guidance of the Coordinator, the VOCA Social worker provides direct support and interventions to patients and their families when there is a suspicion or report of abuse and/or neglect of a child or vulnerable adult, intimate partner violence (IPV), and/or sexual abuse/assault. This role provides education, counseling, safety plans, lethality assessments and referrals to resources such as IPV/Elder Abuse agencies, safe houses, therapists, free or low cost legal aid agencies, DSS and law enforcement agencies. This position communicates findings with the appropriate MUSC clinicians.Entity

Additional Job Description
Experience: Minimum of 3 years required.
Education: Master's degree in a social work or social welfare program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
Credentials: MSW licensure by the South Carolina Board of Social Work Examiners. Certification in case management preferred.
