Primary Function/General Purpose of Position

The Supply Chain Tech is a physically active position which maintains inventory and orderliness of multiple supply stocking locations within a Clean Core type area.  Delivers shipments, supplies, and requested items daily to the surgery or other procedural areas. Using handheld computers, the Tech will create orders for replenishment both, stock and Non-stock.  Participates in monthly quality assurance inventories and cycle counts.  Disinfects, cleans, and maintains supply locations.  Maintains quality assurance of expiration dates and/or removal of any damaged products. Not a desk job, will learn surgical products.
 

Essential Job Functions

  • Maintains inventory and orderliness of assigned medical supply stock locations ensuring stocking locations are adequately stocked with supplies, kept clean and free of dust, and bins and carts are arranged neatly for ease of access and views

  • Ensures stock is within expiration dates and rotates stock; accordingly, monitors stock usage rates and notifying leader when par levels are inadequate

  • Replenishes perpetual inventory locations; ensures stock is within expiration dates and rotates stock; accordingly, monitors stock usage rates and notifies leader when inventory levels are inadequate

  • Participates in cycle counts and periodic inventories at direction of Supervisor

  • High stress at times, not a desk job, Need a strong drive.

  • Commonly working majority indoors and some outdoors on the loading dock.

  • Must be flexible, and be able to support other areas in times of need.

  • ability to follow rules and guidelines set forth in a surgical setting.
