Summary
Summary: The Unit Assistant has responsibility and accountability for delivery of high quality basic nursing care for a designated group of patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse in accordance with individual patient needs, physician orders, hospital and departmental policies. Maintains confidentiality of information regarding patients/significant others and all health care team members. Shares responsibility for managing resources, supplies and equipment. Assists with coordination of patient care activities and departmental services. Provides clerical and unit related services as specified by the unit.
Education: High school diploma or GED required.
Licensure/Certification: CNA certification preferred or the equivalent of healthcare experience and education. Current CPR.
Experience: Prefer one year minimum of experience working in the patient care setting, preferably as a patient care giver. Prefer one year of clerical experience, preferably in the medical field.
Other Qualifications: Must have proficient computer skills and general understanding of computer applications. Demonstrates ability to multi-task and work independently using critical thinking skills. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
