Location: St. George Regional Hospital – Foremaster Campus
Status: Full-time - 40 hours per week

Pay Range: $26.47 – $40.87 per hour, depending upon certification/licensure and experience in imaging

Job Description

Intermountain Health is seeking a Registry Eligible Echo / Vascular Technologist to join our team at St. George Regional Hospital – Foremaster Campus. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) designed for individuals who have completed an accredited or certificate sonography program and are eligible to sit for their registry.

This role supports high-quality cardiovascular and vascular imaging services while working collaboratively with physicians and the care team to deliver safe, patient-centered care.

Essential Functions

  • Prioritizes and schedules exams; coordinates exams with medical staff, physician offices, other caregivers, and patients.

  • Prepares for exams by following patient identification processes, educating patients and families on procedures, and transporting patients.

  • Performs ultrasound exams consistent with established protocols in a timely manner.

  • Appropriately uses imaging equipment, ensures patient safety and comfort, and achieves quality outcomes.

  • After exams, returns patients to their room and ensures patient stability and safety.

  • Identifies patient needs throughout the care process and appropriately communicates and coordinates care with physicians, caregivers, patients, and families.

  • Accurately documents exam results and other required information; charges appropriately for exams and supplies.

  • Follows established processes to coordinate equipment repair or supply needs.

  • Supports team collaboration as well as quality improvement processes and initiatives.

  • Participates in educational opportunities to maintain clinical competence and develop additional skills and knowledge.

  • May only work in this job code for one year from program completion, unless actively attempting to take the registry exam in accordance with ARDMS or CCI standards.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Eligible to take ARDMS or CCI boards in cardiac or vascular sonography within one year of hire date

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers

  • Participating in and/or a graduate of an accredited or certificate sonography program

Physical Requirements

  • Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
  • Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
  • Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
  • Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)
  • May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
  • For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.
