Work Shift
Day (United States of America)Position Summary: Implements telemetry monitoring on patients who require continuous cardiac monitoring and/or pulse oximetry. Monitors heart rhythm patterns to detect record and report normal and abnormal interval measurements and proper and improper pacemaker or implantable defibrillator function. Monitors, and reports abnormal oxygen saturation levels. Exercises independent judgment in daily technical work under the direction of the charge nurse, assistant nurse manager, nurse manager or supervisor.
Position Requirements :High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization and 1 year or more of experience in identification of heart rhythm patterns or Dysrhythmia certification. Certifications required: Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS). If uncertified, Dysrhythmia certification is required with 6 months of hire (National Telemetry Association, Cardiac Monitor Telemetry Certification, Rhythm Interpretation Certification and ECG/EKG certification).
Preferred Requirements: Vocational or technical training or degree: CNA, CMA or Dysrhythmia certification. 2 years or more of experience in identification of heart rhythm patterns with Dysrhythmia certification. Dysrhythmia certification upon hire.
