Under the guidance and direction of a Registered Nurse, the OB technician is responsible for assisting in the nursing care and surgical services in the maternity services area including the provision of patient care necessary for comfort, hygiene, data collection, and documentation. Activities are based on accepted standards of operating room and obstetrical practice and are performed within the scope of education, training, and experience. The OB Technician is responsible to maintain current knowledge of trends in the operating room, including new products, procedures, and physicians' techniques. Performs indirect and direct patient care of the neonate, and female patients under the direct supervision of a RN. Provides patient care support, maintenance of nursing unit, housekeeping and dietary tasks, and clerical support for the nursing unit.

Candidates must possess the ability to prioritize and have excellent organizational skills with attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in stressful situations. Our team members strive to maintain a steady level of productivity. You will need to be a motivated, positive, flexible, compatible, supportive and a team player. Position will require call and weekend rotation as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
LPN or graduate approved Surgical Technology program
Within six months of hire completes the requirements to become a birth registrar and notary.
One year hospital experience preferred as a Surgical Scrub or LPN preferred
