Summary:
Acupuncture treatments may be engaged for chronic pain, stress, sleep disorders, headaches, nausea, fertility and overall wellness of mind and body.
Responsibilities:
1. Ability to conduct patient assessments based on information from standardized assessments, observations, medical staff, medical records, patient and caregivers.
2. Plan and organize therapeutic interventions.
3. Implement treatment plan.
4. Plan, design and develop programs.
5. Document all treatments in the medical record.
6. May be required to supervise or train others.
7. Monitor progress of patients
8. Correctly insert needles to body parts for treatment.
Other information:
Education Requirements:
● Prefer graduation from a three-year postgraduate acupuncture college, accredited by or in candidacy status by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM) or its successor organization.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
● Current and valid licensure as Licensed Acupuncturist (LAc) by North Carolina Acupuncture Licensing Board.
Professional Experience Requirements:
● 3 years of clinical experience in providing acupuncture services is highly desired.
