The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. Job Overview: As a Pharmacist I, you will optimize patient safety by managing complex medication therapies and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the most effective clinical outcomes. In this essential role, you will provide direct oversight of technician activities, accurately compound sterile and non-sterile products, and serve as a vital drug information resource for both patients and medical staff. Qualifications: Required: Active, unrestricted New Jersey Pharmacy License Graduate of an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy (or FPGEC certification with required internship hours) Strong verbal and written communication skills for provider and nurse consultation Preferred: Completion of an ASHP accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or other advanced degree Previous experience in a hospital pharmacy setting Scheduling Requirements Part-Time – 20 hours Days Essential Functions: Reviews and verifies medication orders for completeness, accuracy, and clinical appropriateness in accordance with pharmaceutical care standards. Supervises and prepares the accurate dispensing of medications, including unit dose, automated dispensing (Pyxis), IV admixtures, chemotherapy, TPN, and sterile products. Performs clinical duties including medication counseling, pharmacokinetic monitoring, renal dose adjustments, and therapeutic substitutions. Maintains exceptional customer service and clear communication with providers and nurses to ensure the safe use of high-alert medications. Utilizes EPIC to document clinical interventions and ensures all patient records are maintained with high precision. Provides direct oversight of pharmacy technician activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies. Completes assigned learner modules and competencies to maintain up-to-date knowledge of departmental standards of practice.
