The Barnabas Health Behavioral Health Center with Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus Behavioral Health Services constitutes a freestanding 100-bed acute care psychiatric facility which provides inpatient and intensive outpatient programs for adults and older adults diagnosed with psychiatric and dual disorders.
Job Overview:
The Safety Care Associate is a Patient Care Associate with experience working with the dual-diagnosis patients who will have a primary focus on ensuring the safe milieu of the unit. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: conducting mandatory Q15 patient safety checks, environmental safety rounds, 1:1 patient safety watches, assisting with group facilitation and the search and logging of patient belongings. Under the direct supervision of the unit director or designee, the Safety Care Associate will assist with providing direct patient care and reinforcing Safety Together core values and implementing safety initiatives and will participate as a member of the Workplace Violence committee. All methods of practice and/or work performance shall conform to written established hospital policies and procedures and be carried to the highest achievable level of competence in a manner demonstrating concern and consideration.
Qualifications:
Required:
High School graduate or GED
Minimum one-year of experience
Successful completion of orientation, mandatory education and trainings
Preferred:
CADC
Experience working in a behavioral health setting
Previous experience as a Home Health Aide, Nurse Aide, Patient Care Associate, or Patient Care Technician
Knowledge and experience working with substance-abuse disorders and dually diagnosed population
Certifications and Licenses Required:
BLS Certification from the American Heart Association
Scheduling Requirements:
Day shift
Per Diem
Every other weekend required
Essential Functions:
