Hiring for an Executive Director for Cornell Behavioral Health . Cornell Behavioral Health provides a full continuum of care โ€” from intensive outpatient counseling and partial hospitalization to inpatient services, crisis stabilization, and assessments. Our 82-bed state-of-the-art facility offers an innovative, welcoming environment that promotes healing and recovery for patients of all ages: children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.

As the only hospital in Sarasota County serving as a behavioral health safety-net provider, SMH plays a vital role in the community.

We are seeking an Executive Director of Behavioral Health to:

  • Lead operational and fiscal responsibilities across the health system
  • Serve as a role model and guide a multidisciplinary team
  • Build strong internal and community partnerships
  • Make a direct impact on patient care and outcomes

Required Qualifications

- Require Master's degree in relevant health care management discipline.
- Require seven (7) years of progressive management experience and/or facility administration.


Preferred Qualifications

- Prefer certification by relevant program or professional organization (e.g., Association of Mental Health Administrators).
- Prefer demonstrated organizational and time management skills to maximize productivity and outcomes.
- Prefer ability to provide leadership and mentoring by guiding individuals and groups towards desired outcomes, setting performance standards and delivering quality services.
- Prefer demonstrated oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to handle difficult situations diplomatically.


Mandatory Education

- Require Master's degree in relevant health care management discipline.
