Job Description
The Vascular Sonographer performs the daily routine and diagnostic procedures as ordered by the Physician. Consistently produce vascular scans of optimal diagnostic quality on patients. Demonstrate knowledge and proficiency in Vascular Sonography exams to include: 2D scans, Duplex imaging, AnkleBrachial Index (ABI), and Doppler studies. Performs measurements and calculations according to protocol; provides a written or oral summary of preliminary findings, report abnormal findings (if immediate attention is indicated) to the interpreting Radiologist. Applies appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure. Is responsible for the safety and well-being of all patients in the department. Must possess the ability to communicate effectively with the patient(s) and health care team. Must be dependable, accountable, and cooperative. Follows all established Ultrasound, Radiology and Hospital Policies and Procedures and is proficient in exams both within and outside of the Department. Conduct basic equipment maintenance, quality control measures, and other administrative, technical, or supervisory tasks as might be required. Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
Required Licensure, Certifications, Registration • RVT (ARDMS), RVS (CCI), or RT(VS) (ARRT), Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA) • RDMS (AB, OB/GYN) or RT(S) is acceptable, however, Sonographer must obtain Vascular registry within *12 months of date of hire.

Education: Graduation from an accredited Vascular Technology, Cardiovascular Technology, or Ultrasonography program is preferred. Work Experience: 4-6 years Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers as a Registered Vascular Technologist (ARDMS RVT) or by Cardiovascular Credentialing International as a Registered Vascular Specialist (CCI RVS) is required prior to being hired.
