Job Overview:
Completion of formal Ultrasound training program with previous experience in a Vascular Laboratory. Registered Vascular Technologist or Registered Vascular Specialist status required. A technologist may be hired as registry eligible. In such cases the candidate must sit and pass the registry exam within 6 months of hire or be terminated.

Required:
Completion of formal Ultrasound Training Program with previous experience in a Vascular Laboratory.
Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) status required. A technologist may be hired as registry eligible.
In such cases the candidate must sit for the registry exam within 6 months of hire and pass the exam within the first year of hire or be terminated.

Essential Functions:
Schedule procedures when necessary and maintain daily workload
Performs clinical assessment of patient prior to vascular study
Performs all necessary test protocols on patients in the lab, at bedside, in the Emergency Room, Recovery Room or in the Operating Room as deemed necessary by the ordering physician
Assess correlation of test results with patient symptoms
Provide preliminary findings report for all patients
Compile data for record keeping and reporting
Contact attending/referring physician if a critical finding is obtained
Performs ultrasound guided pseudo-aneurysm compression under the direct supervision of vascular surgeon
Assists Vascular surgeon in ultrasound guided pseudo-aneurysm injections
Maintain Vascular Laboratory standards as set by the inter-societal Accreditation Commission, Vascular division
Participate in QI and monthly staff meetings
On-call availability
Maintain registry status with continuing education credits as mandated in IAC standards
Other required responsibilities in order to maintain the standard of excellence of the Vascular Laboratory
Establishes and maintains ethical working relationships and good rapport with all hospital related personnel and maintains confidentiality
