SVMC is seeking an outpatient physical therapist to see patients in our outpatient department on the main hospital campus (Bennington, VT) but will also have the opportunity to work at one of our satellite locations (Deerfield Valley Health Center in Wilmington, VT, Northshire Medical Center in Manchester, VT or Twin Rivers in Hoosick Falls, NY). We encourage therapists to apply as SVMC is willing to be flexible with scheduling and accommodating varying hour requirements. In consultation with the referring provider, the Physical Therapist is responsible for evaluating, developing, implementing, and documenting a plan of treatment for patients of all ages.A weekend fair turn commitment in our inpatient department is required. In addition, this position has the opportunity to supervise physical therapist assistants and students.
Requirements: MS degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school required. DPT is required for new grads. Prior physical therapy experience preferred, but new grads are encouraged to apply. A Vermont State license to practice physical therapy is required on hire. Health Care Provider BLS within 90 days of hire and current CPR certification required.
Outpatient rehabilitation provides physical, occupational and speech therapy at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center and SVMC’s satellite campuses across the region. The rehabilitation program services patients of all ages with many specialty rehab services available, including but not limited to, vestibular therapy, hand therapy and lymphedema therapy.
