RESPONSIBILITIES  Accurately fill, record, and deliver medication orders under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Perform computer entry for orders, billing, and posting of pharmacy charges in a timely and accurate manner. Maintain inventory systems, including ordering, stocking, and tracking expiration dates to ensure medication safety and availability. Support pharmacy operations by preparing IV solutions and unit-dose medications under proper supervision. Complete clerical duties such as workload reporting, filing, and assisting with billing documentation. KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE Licensed Pharmacy Technician with the State of Alaska (non-certified acceptable).Completion of a Pharmacy Technician course or at least two years of pharmacy technician experience. Knowledge of wholesale ordering, inventory control, and pharmacy billing systems. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare setting. Proficient with general office machines and technology, including computers, fax, and photocopiers. Excellent communication and customer service skills when interacting with patients, staff, and vendors. Physical Requirements: Light physical demands with occasional lifting up to 40 pounds; most work performed indoors. ENVIRONMENT The South Peninsula Hospital is a combined 22-bed Acute Care Critical Access Hospital and 28-bed Long Term Care facility located at the southern end of the Kenai Peninsula in South-Central Alaska. Pharmacy Technicians work primarily indoors in a well-organized, supportive pharmacy setting that serves both acute and long-term care patients. Work hours may fluctuate based on patient needs and operational requirements. Job Hazards: Potential exposure to pharmaceutical agents, cleaning chemicals, and prolonged computer use; adherence to safety procedures and use of protective equipment is required.
