Loan forgiveness and tuition reimbursement programs are available.   RESPONSIBILITIES Assist with direct patient care, including obtaining patient histories, taking vital signs, and preparing charts. Collect specimens and perform routine tests such as UAs and HCGs. Perform specialized medical procedures under established clinical protocols. Chaperone patients during sensitive exams. Educate and advise patients on specific health-related topics within established parameters. Maintain clinic rooms, restock supplies, and assist with inventory management. KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant (or related role such as CNA, EMT-1, or Health Care Specialist). Prior experience in a healthcare setting preferred, especially in outpatient or clinical environments. Proficiency in medical terminology and understanding of clinical workflows. Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality and professionalism. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and remain on your feet for extended periods. ENVIRONMENT South Peninsula Hospital combines a 22-bed critical access hospital with specialty clinics, including mental health and women’s care, located on the scenic southern Kenai Peninsula. The role requires a balance of walking, sitting, and light physical activity. While most work is indoors, there is occasional exposure to infectious diseases and bloodborne pathogens, as well as minor physical risks such as muscle strain or needlesticks. Despite these hazards, the clinic environment emphasizes safety, support, and professionalism.
