Loan forgiveness and tuition reimbursement programs are available.  RESPONSIBILITIES:         Administer respiratory treatments, medications, and life support to patients.        Perform diagnostic tests for cardiovascular and pulmonary conditions.          Monitor and assess patient responses to therapy, making timely adjustments as needed.         Accurately document care and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.        Ensure compliance with protocols, safety standards, and infection control procedures. KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:          Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.         Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) accreditation through the NBRC.          Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP.          Minimum of one year experience in respiratory therapy or a comparable combination of education and experience.          Strong ability to read, interpret, and communicate technical and medical information.          Effective verbal and written communication skills with all levels of staff and patients.          Strong math and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply clinical judgment in dynamic situations.         Physical requirement: Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds and perform moderate physical activity including walking, standing, and sitting. ENVIRONMENT: This position is based in a 22-bed acute care hospital with a connected 28-bed long-term care facility in a scenic coastal Alaska community. The environment is clean, organized, and team-oriented, supporting a broad range of patient needs across departments including ICU, ER, Family Birthing, and observation units. Staff may be exposed to infectious diseases, airborne particles, bodily fluids, and moving equipment, and must observe strict safety protocols to mitigate hazards. Although most work is performed indoors, occasional exposure to radiation, caustic chemicals, and electrical equipment is possible, and noise levels may vary from quiet to moderate.
