Summary:
The Sterile Processing Technicianis responsible forcleaning, sterilizing,assembling, and storing items in a sterile environment as well as ordering supplies,maintainingpar levels, and stocking for the department.
Responsibilities:
Decontaminates, disinfects, and thoroughly cleans supplies, instruments, and equipment used with patients.
Assembles supplies, instruments, basin sets, used in a variety of clinical settingsin accordance withpolicy/procedures.Wraps and prepares all items for sterilization withappropriate labeling.Usesappropriate sterilizationmethod based onmanufacture’sguidelines. Ensure parameters of sterilization are met.
Ensures code blue carts are stocked and ready for use aswellother hospital equipment is cleaned according to manufacturer’s guidelines.Pullscase carts with all available supplies and instrumentation to ensure patient needs are met.Manages supplies within the departmentin order toprovide safe and efficient care.
