Job Description Summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Radiology Technologist Assistant to support our Imaging team at Park City Hospital. In this PRN role, you will assist technologists in preparing patients for diagnostic imaging procedures, ensuring their safety, comfort, and a smooth workflow throughout the department.

Essential Functions

  • Deliver safe and effective patient care under the supervision of a licensed technologist.

  • Prepare patients for imaging exams and respond to their needs with empathy and professionalism.

  • Assist patients on and off procedure tables and transport them to and from imaging areas.

  • Coordinate patient care and communicate relevant information to care teams post-procedure.

  • Inspect and maintain transport equipment; report any issues promptly.

  • May perform IV insertions upon certification and successful skill validation.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.

  • Understanding of safety protocols across imaging modalities.

  • Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with electronic medical records.

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to following instructions accurately.

  • Team-oriented with a focus on maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in patient care or customer service

  • IV Certification (may not be required at all locations)

Physical Requirements:

  • Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
  • Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
  • Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
  • Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)
  • May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
