Psychoeducation Specialist – Lorain Hospital
This is a PRN "As Needed" Position
Primary Function/General Purpose of Position
The Psychoeducation Specialist provides direct patient care under the guidance of a designated healthcare professional in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, and within policies, procedures, and guidelines of Bon Secours Mercy Health.
Essential Job Functions
Facilitates groups. Provides Individual activities tailored to specific needs of patients (within scope). May participate in family meetings and treatment team meetings.
Discharge planning in collaboration with Social Worker team
Community resource knowledge and coordination of activities; particularly in the area of specialized activities such as pet therapy, nutrition, yoga.
Completes leisure assessments
Care planning
May provide 1:1 patient safety companion service as needed.
May provide 15-minute patient checks as assigned.
Successfully participates to complete BSMH and departmental specific training as required

Licensing/Certification
Must be licensed, certified, or registered as appropriate by state and national licensing boards in one of the following:
Education
Bachelors, Occupational Therapy, Recreational Therapy, or Expressive Therapy (Music, Dance/Movement), Counseling, or Human Services (required)
Work Experience
1 year in social or human services setting (required)

Working Conditions
