Performs a variety of radiology procedures utilizing all aspects of the equipment.

Education:

Required: Graduate of a Radiologic Technology Training Program approved by the American Medical Association or equivalent training

Licensure/Certification:

Required: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification; California Radiologic Technologist (CRT) license with fluoroscopy permit; must obtain fluoroscopy permit within twelve (12) months of hire if graduated before January 1, 2011 from Diagnostic Radiology Technology program with CRT license; American Heart Association BLS

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
  • Obtains all pertinent medical information from patient to identify age specific needs.
  • Performs Radiographic procedures of high technical quality.
  • Utilizes proper radiation protection to protect patient from excessive radiation.
  • Uses of all equipment efficiently; reports all deficiencies to immediate supervisor.
  • Stocks x-ray rooms between exams and at end of shift.
  • Performs appropriate diagnostic procedures as ordered and assists Radiologist performing procedure.
  • Takes on additional procedures during periods of heavy workload.
  • Documents any changes in patient condition using appropriate forms.
  • Obtains appropriate medical history before patient examination and prepares patient for exam.
  • Performs receptionist and Radiology Assistant duties as needed.
  • Produces radiographs and practices isolation techniques per policy and procedures.
  • Follows ALARA guideline and uses Universal Precautions in all situations.
  • Produces films as needed.
  • Preforms other duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served
  • Ability to operate radiographic equipment (i.e C-ARM, R&F room and portable equipment)
