Under the direction of a Radiologist, performs radiographic procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation or prescribed radiofrequency beams for radiologic diagnosis and / or intervention. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required.
Sarasota Memorial Hospital is seeking a skilled Interventional Radiology Technologist to join our surgical team. This position will work in the operating room (OR) under the direction of a vascular surgeon, providing advanced imaging support during complex interventional procedures. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly skilled in fluoroscopic imaging, and comfortable working in a detail-paced surgical environment.
Key Responsibilities include:
• Operate and maintain imaging equipment, including fluoroscopy and angiographic systems, during vascular and interventional procedures.
• Assist the vascular surgeon and surgical team in complex endovascular and hybrid OR cases.
• Ensure proper patient positioning and radiation safety measures to optimize imaging quality.
• Maintain sterile technique and assist in procedural setup, including catheter and wire management.
• Perform pre-procedural imaging assessments and post-procedure image documentation.
• Collaborate with OR staff, anesthesia providers, and nurses to ensure seamless workflow during procedures.
• Adhere to hospital policies, infection control standards, and radiation safety guidelines.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education to stay current with best practices in interventional radiology.
Salary Details:
Hourly rate is determined by years of experience relating to this role and internal equity within organization. Minimum rate starting at $41.70, max of salary range is $62.50
