QualificationsAs a Histotechnologist, you play a crucial role in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases by turning tissue samples into microscope slides. Primary duties include:
•Prepare sections of human tissue in a variety of sizes and types, including fixation, processing, sectioning, and a variety of special stains
•Cut thin sections of kidney, GI, skin, eye, and bone marrow biopsy; cut whole mount prostate, whole human and mouse eye; cut decalcified tissue
•Perform H&E stain and variety of special stains both manually and by using an automated stainer, such as Ventana
•Manage supplies and laboratory quality-control procedures
Salary Range: $49.80 - $59.51/hour
