Summary Summary
Provides professional patient care and practices occupational therapy by evaluating, planning, implementing and documenting treatment. Assesses plans and carries out programs of purposeful activity designed to assist in the rehabilitation of medically necessary patients as prescribed by the physician. Bases selection of activities from physician's prescription, history, evaluation findings, experience and interests of the patient; plans and directs special diversional or educational events for patients. Instructs and collaborates with occupational therapy assistants regarding treatment procedures to be utilized. Supervises Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTA/OTA) in carrying out an OT program or selected parts of it. Completes all documentation and billing in a timely and acceptable manner.
