THIS IS A COLLECTIVE BARGAINING UNIT POSITION Summary of Primary Function/General Purpose of Position The Lab Transcriptionist interprets and transcribes the dictation into patient history, exam notes, operative reports, referral letters, discharge summaries, and other documents. Follows patient confidentiality guidelines and legal documentation requirements. Enters medical reports into electronic health records (EHR) systems. Essential Job Functions Transcribes medical reports, summaries, and other medical documents from recorded messages from health care providers. Provides online copies of transcribed documents to physicians or other providers for review and signature, making corrections or changes as noted.
