About the Emergency Department: The UNC REX Emergency Department includes 54 beds, plus an8-bed non-designated holding area with private rooms dedicated to behavioral health patients. The ED features: 2 major resuscitation rooms Dedicated triage areas for initial assessment An in-department radiology suite A fully equipped decontamination room Our ED team treats patients experiencing life-threatening emergencies, acute medical conditions, minor injuries, and behavioral health diagnoses. Our team provides expert care across a wide spectrum of medical emergencies, including behavioral health crises, strokes, and cardiac events.
