Radiation Therapy Supervisor - Elyria Cancer Center - Mercy Health

Shift/Schedule

• Full Time - Scheduled for 40 Weekly Hours

• Shift Times - Days

• Weekend/Holiday Availability - As Required

Job Summary:

The Supervisor, Radiation will oversee the day-to-day operations of the department as well as supervise and perform the duties of a radiation therapist.  

Essential Functions:

• Oversees daily activities to assure timely, accurate and cost-effective operation of the department. Maintains payroll, statistical records, and committee reports.  
• Manages department staffing, including hiring, training, performance evaluation, and discipline/termination of employees, contractors, and volunteers. 
• Oversees payroll, scheduling, and ensures mandatory training completion for registry staff. 
• Resolves patient care issues. Collaborates with physicians to maintain the highest quality patient care.  
• Supervises and performs all aspects of radiation therapy, including simulation, CT scans, radiation treatments, etc. Displays proficiency in the usage of all equipment. Monitors equipment and request service when needed.  
• Provides instruction for all new equipment and new services.

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a healthcare related field (required) 

Required Licensing & Certifications:

• Licensed in Radiation Therapy by the current state of practice (required)  
• Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy 
• CPR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification (required) 

Experience:

• Minimum 1-year experience in Radiation Therapy (required) 
• 5 years' experience as a Radiation Therapist (preferred)   
• CT Simulation experience (preferred)
