Histocompatibility Technologist

Overview: Performs high complexity histocompatibility testing and related functions including molecular typing, antibody monitoring, and flow cytometry that regularly require a professional level of knowledge to execute, interpret, and/or analyze. Assists with development, validation and implementation of new and/or revised procedures and protocols. Participates in on-call rotation. Assists with development, validation and implementation of new and/or revised procedures and protocols. Participates in on-call rotation. Qualifications: Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science from an accredited college or university Required
Work Experience
  • 3 years of progressive work experience in an ASHI and/or UNOS accredited laboratory and trained in all components of the Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics laboratory including molecular typing, antibody monitoring, and flow cytometry Required
Licenses and Certifications
  • MLS - Medical Lab Scientist (Formally MT Certification) Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist by ASCP (or equivalent organization) Upon Hire Required or
  • HT - Histotechnologist - ASCP Histocompatibility Technologist by ABHI Upon Hire Required and
  • CHT or CHS certification by ABHI within 2 years of start date Required
