649 Job Description This position is eligible for a sign on bonus Job Summary: The EMT has the responsibility and accountability for assuring the delivery of quality pre‐hospital care to patients of all ages using assessment skills, critical thinking and decision‐making skills. This is accomplished through an understanding of the pathophysiology of the body systems and disease processes. An understanding of pharmacology, cardiology, respiratory, and all broad‐systems of the body allow the EMT to perform the standards of care as established by the Indiana State EMS Commission and the Parkview Medical Director as necessary in the pre‐hospital setting. As a team leader, the EMT will be responsible for operational and clinical aspects of patient care within their scope of practice, either independently or under the direction of a Paramedic.
