ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Performs all radiographic examinations according to VVMC protocols. Maintains constructive collaborative communication with patients, families, physicians, co-workers, and other members of health care team to contribute to continuity of care. Maintains established department policies and procedures, objectives, confidentiality, quality assurance, safety, environmental standards, radiation protection standards, infection control standards, and universal precautions. Identifies each patient and reviews exam order for consistency of examination ordered with clinical diagnosis. Reviews consistency of all demographic information including physician’s name and signature, patient’s name, and date. Maintains working knowledge and use of the VVMC HIS and PACS computer systems to ensure quality patient documentation. Role models the principles of a Just Culture. Perform other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Experience: One year of experience in radiology preferred. Certification(s): American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Basic Life Support (BLS) by the American Heart Association. Computer / Typing: Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.

POSITION PURPOSE: Provides radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by the physician according to established policies and procedures, standards, and practices. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 1. Delivers a prescribed and planned course of radiation therapy to patients, answers patient questions, and explains procedures. 2. Assists in tumor localization and dosimetry procedures. 3. Prepares rooms and equipment for patients, stocks rooms with linens and supplies, and orders equipment and supplies as needed. 4. Prepares chart for patient treatment, and takes and reviews images for physician approval. 5. Interfaces with the physicist, imaging personnel and dosimetry to simulate and initiate treatment. Consults with supportive care staff to provide high quality patient care. 6. Reinforces recommendations given to patients by the physician, nurse, dietitian, etc., concerning the reaction to treatment and care of the radiated area, and prevention or treatment of generalized and local side effects. 7. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, professional affiliations, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops. 8. Changes therapy as ordered and performs chart checks in preparation for participation in weekly patient chart rounds. 9. Role models the principles of a Just Culture 10. POSITION PURPOSE: Responsible for leading all Radiation Oncology Physics services to ensure quality and safety in the delivery of radiation therapy to patients. Provides leadership and supervision to members of the physics, dosimetry, and therapy staff. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Perform or review independent/redundant check of monitor unit calculations for all fields and/or use alternate verification methods such as film dosimetry, diode dosimetry, ion chamber measurement, MapCheck measurement, etc. as required by CDPHE and as recommend by ACR guidelines. Provide special physics consultation as requested by the Radiation Oncologist and document in the patient’s medical record as a separate report. Perform or supervise and review special dosimetry measurements utilizing film, diodes, ion chamber, etc. as requested by the Radiation Oncologist. Document results in patient’s medical record as a separate report. Assist in pre-implantation preparation. Calculate Brachytherapy Isodose Plans and Calculate Dwell Times or Seed Strengths and review treatment plans with Physician. Review treatment plans prepared by other personnel for accuracy and reconcile data between treatment plans and record along with verifying the system and imaging system. Serve as Radiation Safety Officer for Shaw Regional Cancer Center or work closely with Radiation Safety Officer in meeting regulatory requirements associated with radiation use. Perform annual review of radiation safety program at Shaw Regional Cancer Center, prepare written report, and present to Radiation Safety Committee of Vail Valley. Maintain records and correspondence pertaining to CDPHE radioactive materials license and registrations of x-ray generating equipment. Arrange for calibrations and/or intercomparisons of radiation survey meters and radiation dosimetry systems as required by CDPHE. Keep records on file as required by CDPHE. Supervise quality assurance program for radiation therapy related equipment at Shaw Regional Cancer Center. Perform other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant. QUALIFICATIONS: Experience: One to two years of medical physics experience. License(s): Radiation Safety Officer for radioactive materials license by Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment preferred. Certification(s): Board certified in Therapeutic Radiologic Physics by the American Board of Radiology or American Board of Medical Physics preferred.
