51575495 Overview The Orthopaedic Technician (or “Cast Tech”) performs a variety of functions to support and care for patients with a limited degree of supervision in the ambulatory clinic, inpatient, and emergency room settings. Collaborates with specialty teams to provide outstanding patient service in an innovative and fast-paced Orthopaedic Practice. Responsibilities Applies and adjusts fiberglass/plaster casts, braces, and/or splints and may assist with assembling and attaching orthopaedic traction equipment and devices. Educates patients on care and usage of casts. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less casting experience. Trains others (e.g., Athletic Trainers, Nurses, and Interns) on proper casting techniques. Provides assistance to the physician during minor procedures.
