ResponsibilitiesThis role provides technical ophthalmic
and administrative assistance to the medical staff of the service
assigned. The Ophthalmic Tech I is the
central point for coordinating patient care/patient flow within a specific ophthalmology
service.
Salary range: $31.13-$41.06 Hourly
QualificationsRequired:
* Knowledge of ophthalmic medical terminology,
basic ocular anatomy, basic ocular physiology, common visual pathologies.
* Minimum 3 years work experience as an ophthalmic assistant. Prior back office coordination helpful.
* Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA).
* Knowledge of common ophthalmic medication.
* Knowledge of ophthalmic equipment and sterilization techniques.
* Skill in acquiring accurate medical history, measuring
and recording visual acuity, performing
lensometry, refractometry,
applanation tonometry, and keratometry.
* Ability to organize and prioritize
duties to maximize clinic efficiency.
