The Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology and Oncology at the University of Virginia’s (UVA) School of Medicine, seeks candidates for a Lab Specialist Intermediate to provide scientific and technical support for laboratory-based research pertaining to molecular genetics with a heavy emphasis on CRISPR-mediated gene editing. The Lab Specialist will work within the research lab of Dr. Eric A. Hendrickson, PhD under the direction of Brian Ruis, MS to generate genome edited cell lines for University of Virginia researchers. The successful candidate will be expected to: Perform and assist with experiments involving mammalian cell culture, DNA isolation, and PCR. Work with the senior scientists to develop methodologies and protocols for ongoing lab projects. Assist with the collection and entry of data in electronic media. Order lab supplies.
