Job Summary: The Expectant Family Education (EFE) Instructor provides quality prenatal education classes to the prenatal family. This includes planning, teaching, and promoting healthy pregnancy, prepared childbirth, and breastfeeding. Classes may include but are not limited to: Childbirth Preparation and Tour, Breastfeeding, Infant CPR, Baby Boot Camp, Big Brother Big Sister, New Dad Class, and Safe Sitter. The EFE Instructor demonstrates a strong understanding of adult and children learning principles and utilizes a variety of teaching techniques such as visual aids, charts, power point presentation lectures, and physical demonstrations of breathing patterns and relaxation skills. Participant levels of understanding are assessed by the EFE Instructor and they adapt instruction to the best advantage for their prenatal families and class participants.
