Summary
Cook Children's Hospital is seeking a Clinical Therapist to work within our Hematology Department. This Therapist will work closely with young hematology patients diagnosed with bleeding disorders, sickle cell disease, stroke or undergoing stem cell transplants to provide supportive counseling to them and their families. The therapist will also work within the sickle cell comprehensive clinic to screen patients for mental health needs, provide disease coping skills, provide outpatient counseling and manage outpatient referrals. Must communicate effectively with hematology doctors, stem cell transplant doctors, and medical staff caring for inpatients. Patient ages can be as young as 4 years old but most tend to be 12 years old and older.
Hours: Mon-Thurs 8am-5pm (32 hours per week)
Required Education, Experience, Licensure & Certification:
Master’s degree in Counseling, Mental Health, Social Work or related field
Licensed LPC or LCSW within the State of Texas...
