Overview The Cardiac Sonographer is responsible for daily operations of the echo lab, equipment maintenance, the report of equipment failures, and quality improvement. The sonographer maintains a high standard of medical ethics at all times and is self-motivated to increase level of understanding and knowledge of the anatomy and pathology. The sonographer is proficient in performing simple and complex echocardiograms, not limited to other emergency or Cardiologist assisted procedures (i.e. pericardiocentesis, ect) pediatric echocardiograms, stress echo, and Transesophogeal. The sonographer should have knowledge in diagnostic digital images and hemodynamic data for physician interpretation. Work closely with Cardiologist to obtain optimal echocardiography quality.
